Three years ago I had a dream: “doing all my best to help the transition to a society without waste”. Today, the realisation that our society should be more inclusive, hits me more than ever. Can you help me to become a catalyst for gender-balance in technology and science?
Do you relate?
The story in 100 seconds:
I live almost completely without waste and decided to devote my life to find answers and alternative materials. At the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, I'm a PhD researcher, funded by the Research Foundation Flanders, specializing in trans-disciplinary research of additive manufacturing with living biomaterials, a domain that has the potential to grow into a completely new discipline. My interest lies at the intersection of biological adaptability of mycelium composites, structural lightweight design and additive manufacturing technologies.
